Brie Baked With Apples & Cranberries
Servings: 12 people
Ingredients:
- ½ Cup Apple, Chopped – About 1/2 Apple
- ¼ Cup Almonds, Chopped
- ¼ Cup Cranberries, Dried
- 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar, Packed
- ¼ Tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp Butter, melted
- 1 (8 Oz) Round Brie, About 4 Inches In Diameter
- 1/2 Orange, Zest Only
- As Needed Crackers or cocktail bread slices
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350° F. Coarsely chop apple with food chopper. Combine apple, almonds, cranberries, brown sugar and cinnamon in small batter bowl; mix gently. Stir in butter just until ingredients are moistened.
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Unwrap the Brie and cut off only the top rind of the cheese, leaving the sides and bottom intact. Place the Brie, cut side up, in a round ceramic baking dish slightly larger than the Brie round (or use the wooden box the brie comes in as an alternative). Top the Brie evenly with the apple/cranberry mixture. Place the dish on a baking sheet to catch any cheese drips. Bake just until the cheese melts, about 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven and transfer to a heatproof platter. Sprinkle orange zest over the round and serve with crackers, baguette slices or crostini.
